Founded under the leadership of business professionals from Bursa and inspired by European non-governmental organizations, Turkish Woodworking Machinery Industrialists Association (AİMSAD) was established on June 6, 2014, in Istanbul. AİMSAD aims to promote cooperation among companies operating in the Turkish woodworking machinery industry and related side industries, develop solutions to all sector-related problems through shared wisdom, and to elevate the industry to higher levels in both domestic and global markets by undertaking various projects. Since its inception, AİMSAD has carried out numerous initiatives for the development of the sector, earning appreciation for its successful efforts and increasing its membership over the years.

AİMSAD has acted with the aim of uniting all relevant machinery and side industry companies across Türkiye under its umbrella. In line with this objective, it has prioritized the representation of geographical regions where sector companies are concentrated even in its management bodies and has taken care to ensure that all side industry sectors are represented under the AİMSAD umbrella.

AİMSAD carries out its activities through five committees that promote sectoral innovation and aim for sustainable growth. These are the Press, Publication, and Promotion Committee, the Manufacturers Committee, the Importers Committee, the Education and After-Sales Services Committee, and the Fair Committee.

AİMSAD, dedicated to strengthening international collaborations and increasing the representation of the Turkish woodworking machinery sector, quickly began its efforts in this direction. Just three months after its establishment, on September 12, 2014, it participated in the General Assembly of the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (EUMABOIS) held in Italy. By the end of that year, AİMSAD became a member of EUMABOIS, and in September 2016, at the EUMABOIS General Assembly held in Switzerland, it was elected to the Board of Directors. AİMSAD continues to serve as a member of the EUMABOIS Board of Directors. In 2018, AİMSAD hosted the EUMABOIS General Assembly in TÜRKİYE. By participating in the board meetings held in different cities around the world each year, AİMSAD promotes the Turkish woodworking machinery sector, informing international representatives about the sector’s changes and developments.

Placing great importance on corporate and sectoral communication and making significant investments in this area, AİMSAD has been publishing the AİMSAD Magazine since 2015. This magazine, which keeps a finger on the pulse of the Turkish woodworking machinery sector, serves as an important resource with its up-to-date and original content. Published every two months, the magazine features sectoral data, interviews with industry representatives, articles, and research files.

One of AİMSAD’s main agenda items is to diversify export markets and support the increase of export figures. In line with this goal, AİMSAD launched its new publication, TWM Magazine, in 2024. The first issue was published in the March-April period. The magazine is printed in Türkiye and subsequently distributed in the sector’s key target markets: the United States of America, South America, Europe, and the Turkic Republics. Prepared by the expert team of AİMSAD Magazine, TWM Magazine shares the success stories of Turkish machinery manufacturers with a wide international audience, further enhancing the sector’s potential.

Additionally, the twm.com.tr portal, launched in 2020, offers AİMSAD member companies the opportunity to promote their products in target markets and has been met with great interest by industry representatives. With its renewed look, the website has received over 100,000 visits so far, where each AİMSAD member company has its own online store on the site, where all relevant contact information, product catalogs, and photos and videos related to products and services can be accessed.

AİMSAD, which has had a successful partnership with Türkiye’s leading fair organizer RX Tüyap for many years, is the main supporter of the WoodTech International Wood Processing Machines, Cutting Tools, Hand Tools Fair, a key meeting point for the sector. With RX Tüyap’s international experience and AİMSAD’s sectoral strength and unifying structure, the WoodTech Fair has been held independently according to its own schedule since 2023. Held at the Istanbul Tüyap Fair and Congress Center, this prestigious event showcases the latest innovations in the industry and is steadily becoming a platform where ideas and collaborations that shape the future of the sector emerge.

AİMSAD places great importance on international fairs to promote Turkish machinery manufacturers in the global market and diversify export markets. By participating in nearly 80 different international fairs in countries such as Germany, Italy, Dubai, Iran, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Greece, India, Egypt, Algeria, Poland, and Serbia, AİMSAD has successfully represented the Turkish woodworking machinery sector. These fairs have provided opportunities to showcase Turkish machinery manufacturers and the latest sector technologies worldwide, enhancing the visibility of the “Made in Türkiye” brand.

AİMSAD is actively working in various areas to address the challenges faced by the sector and is developing solutions as part of this effort. As a unifying force in the industry, AİMSAD aims to take steps to address sectoral issues and eliminate obstacles that hinder the growth of the sector, contributing to the expansion of the Turkish woodworking machinery industry.
