AIMSAD represented Türkiye at the General Assembly of EUMABOIS, the umbrella organization of the European woodworking machinery industry. At the meeting, Mustafa Sabri Erol, Vice Chairman of the AIMSAD Board of Directors, was elected to the EUMABOIS Board of Directors. It was also decided that the 2026 General Assembly will be hosted by AIMSAD in Istanbul.

AIMSAD Vice Chairman Mustafa Sabri Erol and AIMSAD Board Member and Secretary General Arif Onur Kaçak attended the annual general assembly meeting of the European Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers (EUMABOIS) held in Dresden, Germany. During the meeting, the current state and future goals of the Turkish woodworking machinery sector were discussed, and as a result of the election, Mustafa Sabri Erol was elected to the EUMABOIS Board of Directors.

 The new Board of Directors consists of the following members;

• President: Frederik Meyer (Germany – VDMA)
• Vice President: Enrico Aureli (Italy – ACIMALL)
• Board Member: Mustafa Sabri Erol (Türkiye – AIMSAD)
• Board Member: Tomasz Nieciag (Poland – DROMA)
• Board Member: Antoine Vernez (Sweden – HBT)

Stating that representing Türkiye in one of the most important platforms of the European woodworking machinery industry is a great responsibility, AIMSAD Vice Chairman and new EUMABOIS Board Member Mustafa Sabri Erol said, “Being part of EUMABOIS is critical in terms of our sector becoming a stronger voice not only in the European market but also on a global scale. Within the scope of this role, we will work harder to make Türkiye’s production capacity, technological competence, and export potential more visible. Our goal is to elevate our sector to higher ranks in the highly competitive international arena, lay the groundwork for new collaborations, and more effectively align AIMSAD’s vision with European stakeholders. Furthermore, the decision to host the EUMABOIS Annual General Assembly in Istanbul under AIMSAD’s auspices in 2026 is a source of pride and responsibility for us.”

After thanking the outgoing board members, EUMABOIS President Frederik Meyer said: “I trust that the new board of directors will be able to meet the challenges of this difficult period in wood technology and beyond with the necessary skills. In a global environment full of conflicts, maintaining transnational relations and cooperation, even if only in certain areas, is a clear and concrete call for sharing and partnership.”

AIMSAD to host EUMABOIS in Istanbul once again

The EUMABOIS Annual General Meeting will be held in Istanbul in 2026, hosted by AIMSAD once again. This meeting, one of the most important gatherings of the European woodworking machinery industry, was previously held in Istanbul in 2018, also hosted by AIMSAD. The general assembly, which will be held in Türkiye again after an eight-year hiatus, will once more demonstrate AIMSAD’s effectiveness in the international arena and its strong representation in Europe.
