“Furniture Fair is a meeting point reflecting Türkiye’s manufacturing power”
Stating that Türkiye is gradually strengthening its position as an important manufacturer and exporter country in the world furniture sector, Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat said; “The International Istanbul Furniture Fair is not only the gateway of the Turkish furniture sector to the world, but also a meeting point that reflects Türkiye’s manufacturing power, aesthetic understanding and commercial vision. Our fair is an important step not only for our furniture sector but also for the future of the Turkish economy.”
“The fair sets a new bar, a new threshold and a new vision for the sector”
Şekib Avdagiç, the Chairman of the Board of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO), underlined that the fair provides a new bar, a new threshold and a new vision for the Turkish furniture sector and stated: “The International Istanbul Furniture Fair shows us that the goals of more production, more employment, and more exports can be achieved through branding and design. This fair has two key features. First, it is being held under the auspices and support of the Furniture Associations Federation, one of the leading umbrella organizations of the sector. This gives it the power to represent the sector, reflect its present, and shape its future. Second, as the name suggests, it brings furniture and design together. Thus, it adds value to the sector with design, which is its “distinctive feature.”
“We aim to enter the top 5 in the global rankings”
In his speech at the fair’s opening, MOSFED President Ahmet Güleç stated that they aim to increase exports to 12 billion dollars by 2030 and enter the top 5 in global rankings. Güleç said: “The International Istanbul Furniture Fair will play a strategic role in all these efforts, just as it did yesterday, today, and tomorrow. IIFF is such an opportunity for the Turkish furniture sector. We will continue to work together to make the most of this opportunity and advance the sector further.”
