The countdown has begun for the WoodTech International Woodworking Machinery, Cutting Tools, Hand Tools Fair, which has become the largest meeting point of the woodworking machinery industry in Eurasia. WoodTech Fair, which will be held for the 35th time this year, is getting ready to open its doors on October 22, 2022.
Organized by Reed Tüyap Fair Organisation in cooperation with İMSAD, the 35th WoodTech Fair, which is the largest meeting point of the sector in the Eurasia Region, will be held at Tüyap Fair and Congress Center between 22-26 October 2022. The woodworking machinery industry, which provided a significant added value to the country’s economy with an export of more than 122 million dollars last year, will make a show of strength with its state-of-the-art products and services at the WoodTech Fair, as in previous years. AIMSAD, which will participate in the fair with all its members this year, as it does every year, is preparing to direct the fair with the strongest and largest companies in the sector.
“In 2023, WoodTech and Intermob Fairs will be held separately”
The WoodTech Fair, which will be organized simultaneously with the Intermob Fair for the last time, will be held alone as of 2023. Arif Onur Kaçak, Secretary General of AIMSAD, who gave information about the separation of the fairs stated as follows; “WoodTech is one of the most rooted and oldest fairs in Turkey. However, as we all know, companies cannot find the area and square meters to represent themselves in our fair, which is held simultaneously with the Intermob Fair. Many of the well-established and leading companies of the sector and the fair are located in the second and third halls. The columned structure in the lower halls create a big problem during placement and dismantling. In addition, since two fairs are held simultaneously, visitor measurement and reporting cannot be made for WoodTech Fair. We receive frequent requests from our members for solutions to these problems, both during fair periods and at different times. In this direction, we conveyed our request to Reed Tüyap for the separation of two fairs under the leadership of our fair committee. As a result of long negotiations, Reed Tüyap also found this opinion positive and conveyed to our association that he could separate the fairs. As of 2023, we will organize the WoodTech Fair alone. We hope that this arrangement will satisfy all our member companies.”
European visitors expected to be at the forefront this year
While 584 companies and company representatives from 26 countries participated in the WoodTech and Intermob Fairs held last year, approximately 52 thousand industry professionals from 112 countries visited the fair. The satisfaction rate of the participants last year was at a record level, at 97.2 percent. Last year, visitors from the Middle East and the Balkans took the lead in WoodTech and Intermob Fairs, and this year, European visitors are expected to stand out at the fair. With the arrival of European visitors, the woodworking machinery industry will be one step closer to its export targets with its country diversity.
Within the scope of WoodTech incentive
WoodTech participants will be able to benefit from support packages this year as in previous years. In this context, WoodTech Fair was included in the Domestic Qualified Fair Incentive list of the Ministry of Commerce. For 2022, an incentive of up to 77 thousand TL will be given for ground rent and stand expenses. Incentive applications can be made online through the DYS system within three months after the fair takes place.
